Li Lu grew up in China, studied economics, business and law at Columbia University, and founded Himalaya Capital in 1997. He buys a business as if he were its owner — only one he understands, only at a price that leaves room for his own mistakes — and holds a handful of such companies for years. Charlie Munger entrusted his family's money to him. Himalaya also buys shares on markets outside the United States; those never appear in a 13F filing, so this page shows only the part listed in the US.
